Why does everything I love get taken from me?
Tim Bierbaum from Serious Lunch has come forward to confess he made the whole thing up.
“I just noticed how the shapes behind him look like Mario levels,” he told THR’s Live Feed. “It’s quite clear, you see: the end of stage flag from Mario 1 is there right next to a keyhole from Mario world.”
“It’s pretty funny [that everyone took it seriously]. I’m glad it’s inspired some discussion.”
